On Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, join us for the 3rd Annual Courage Ride for Rehab around Pigeon Lake, Alberta! By participating in this exciting 58.5 kilometre bike ride, you help raise critical funds in support of the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation.

Unable to join us on September 8? Join us on November 17 at the Ride for Courage - Indoor Cycling ExperienceClick here for details!

In addition to raising funds to support the world-class efforts of the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, the event will profile and raise awareness of the relationship between the Glenrose and the YMCA with the Canadian Forces. Together, rehabilitation is provided to the men and women who have so proudly served our country.

The Bikeathon is not a race, but a fun event for everyone, from families to avid cyclists, to share a day filled with cycling, inspiration, motivation and showing support for those who need it.

The Canadian Forces Health Services has had a longstanding partnership with the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. On June 24, 2011, Member of Parliament for Edmonton Centre Laurie Hawn (now a Board Trustee of the Glenrose Foundation) announced the contribution of the Government of Canada through the Department of National Defense to purchase a state-of-the-art Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN).

CAREN creates a safe and controlled therapeutic learning environment for soldiers and civilians requiring physical and mental rehabilitation. The system is used to treat a wide variety of conditions including stroke, amputation, traumatic brain injury, multiple orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, postural instability, sports injury, burns and psychiatric disorders such as phobias and PTSD.
